Learn French with a French native speaker through Skype!
Speak, read, write, understand.... – French Pronunciation – French for Beginners

Study includes:
- How to read/pronounce/write/understand/speak and build vocabulary
- Special attention will be given to the training of your ears to the French sounds, and to the basic knowledge/vocabulary/customs for Greetings, Eating and Drinking, Making Arrangements, Travel, Getting about, Accommodation, Shopping, Work and Study, Health, At Home, Services (Post, Bank...), Leisure and Socializing (my basis here is the structure adopted by Caroline Lemoine in her book entitled "15-minute French")

I am a passionate, patient, understanding, and demanding teacher.

I propose a syllabic/phonetic multi-sensorial approach based on the works of Dr. Ghislaine Wettstein-Badour, Suzanne Borel-Masonny, Melle Silvestre de Sacy, and others.

Basically, this approach respect the way a human brain works and focuses on training your ears and your mind to slowly be at ease with the French language.

The brain needs to rationalize the written signs and to associate them with the sound they produce, and with the meaning behind.

Following a syllabic progression that has even proved successful for French dyslexic children, I propose to teach how to read, pronounce, write, and speak French with focussing on the basics first.

I strongly believe in very sound foundations to build the house.

When the person I am courting decided she would learn French, I could well foresee the problems ahead: If the ear is not trained first, then she would later mix la roue (wheel) and la rue (street), le lit (bed) and le lait (milk), le concert and le cancer... and would not hear the difference between conditional and future for sure...

I could not envision this... So, I specifically designed this course in order to avoid these long lasting problems that are the consequence of foundations that are not sound enough.

Speaking French fluently within one month will of course not happen, but should you wish to learn quickly that I believe 18 months will be enough for you to have a very good level. But, yes, that also means you are willing to practice daily (at least 15 minutes a day) and ready to have a lesson four times a week.
Now, of course, not everyone needs to hurry.
In any case, my lessons will also give you what is needed so that you end up being able to progress on your own - that is what a very good basis is for.

EXPERIENCES
As a pedagogue, I have always used a sound and progressive approach, and I always strive to respond to my students' needs.
I also have much experience in training people's ears as a Music Professor (all ages, beginners to graduate students), which allows me to train your ears to French sounds in a very effective way.
As mentioned above, "When the person I am courting decided she would learn French, I could well foresee the problems ahead: If the ear is not trained first, then she would later mix la roue (wheel) and la rue (street), le lit (bed) and le lait (milk), le concert and le cancer... and would not hear the difference between conditional and future for sure...

I could not envision this... so, I specifically designed this course in order to avoid these long lasting problems that are the consequence of foundations that are not sound enough."
