After a Tour to Moscow, London and Mexico in 2005 to accompany Eisenstein’s brilliant Que Viva Mexico! Live, French trio NLF3 are coming back to London with a new remarquable live soundtrack of  The Adventures of Prince Ahmed.

The Adventures of Prince Ahmed premiered in 1926, hailed as the first full-length animated film in the history of cinema. Over eighty years on, Lotte Reiniger’s film still stands as one of the great classics of animation. Based on a story from The Arabian Nights and made entirely with back-lit paper cut-outs arranged in multiple layers to produce a three-dimensional effect, it is lively, inventive and utterly mesmerizing. NLF3 worked over several months in 2006 to create a new soundtrack that would translate the film’s intricacy and lyricism, with dazzling results.

After two critically acclaimed albums (part one & part two – 2000; Viva! – 2003),  brothers Nicolas & Fabrice Laureau and Jean-Michel Pires are currently working on their fourth album, and are scoring the next feature film by Sophie Bredier.
