Remembering Debussy @ 100

15/05/2018

Remember Debussy 100 years after his death, with internationally renowned singers Claire Booth and Susan Bickley. They are joined by acclaimed collaborative pianist Andrew Matthews-Owen for a recital exploring the composer’s life and his friendship with minimalist compatriot Eric Satie.

The concert also features a brand new work written for Claire, Susan and Andrew by Britain's leading opera composer Jonathan Dove, 'Letters To Claude'. Dove sets to music the letters of both his wife Lily Debussy and his mistress Emma Bardac, giving an intimate portrait of a great composer as we remember him 100 years after his death.

Debussy: 5 Poèmes de Baudelaire
Satie: Elégie from 4 Petites mélodies; Le chapelier from 3 Mélodies; Tendrement; L'omnibus automobile; Je te veux
