Match d'Improvisation

London celebrates its 5th edition of International Match Impro on 28 March @ Tabernacle Theatre

28/03/2018 from 20:30 to 01:00

Le Match d’Improvisation is returning to London after the riotous success of previous editions. This theatrical genre in French is best described as a cross between improvisational theatre and ice hockey with actors from several countries engaging in a battle of wits and creativity, mixing humour and ingenuity to win the favour of the public.

Fans of humour and theatre are invited to celebrate theatrical improvisation where the actors take you into another dimension: that of the imagination, laughter, fantasy and emotion!

Based on subjects chosen by an inflexible referee, a selection of professional players from France, Canada and Quebec, for this exceptional meeting, will need to redouble their creativity in a merciless battle… A form of spontaneous expression inspired by the unconscious and by make-believe, fantastic poetical stories, often hilarious, invented on the spot.

The actors face an audience free to indicate its likes/dislikes at any moment. Nothing’s written down in advance and the dramatic construction builds up little by little…

A rib-cracking evening is guaranteed at The Tabernacle theatre, 300 metres from Portobello Road, Notting Hill’s most famous street.

Bar open throughout.
