free Emerging Reef by Cédric Carré

From 25/01/2019 at 11:00 to 21/02/2019 at 17:00

D Contemporary is delighted to present Cédric Carré’s new solo show; an exhibition focusing on the ever-changing natural world around us. In his latest paintings, Carré explores delicate seascapes, beautiful and bewitching. In contrast to his previous London exhibition of urban landscapes, the paintings are full of shapes and forms that are organic and colourful, and no less portentous of a message we can’t ignore.
Cédric Carré has shown widely throughout France and his work can be found in private collections and public galleries throughout Europe, including the Musée La Piscine in Roubaix.

Cédric approaches painting as a question of depth and light. He reinvents the subject of landscapes, studying their layers by exploring their transparency. He is particularly interested in the relationship between the sky and earth; the above and below. He has previously worked on and reconstructed the Babel tower, designed imaginary sky charts, elliptic stadium sites, arenas, creeks and circuses. Cédric is constantly moving away from figurative representation. He experiments instead with abstraction and the unreal, leaving the observer to wonder if the subject matter exists, is under construction or already falling into ruins.

The exhibition is sponsored and supported by Beroud Consulting Ltd (http://www.beroudconsulting.com).

The show runs from 25th January to 21st February 2019. Open Mon-Fri 11H-18H and Sat 11H -17H.
