A wealthy bourgeois building in Paris in the early 60s. On the first floor lives Mr Joubert, an uptight but good-hearted stockbroker, with his socialite wife. On the sixth floor live a group of cheerful and noisy Spanish women working as maids in the rich apartments on the other floors of the building. Shortly after María enters Mr Joubert's house as a helper, Mr and Mrs Joubert's lives take a radical turn – including his move to the sixth floor. Delightful, witty and funny, the film was a huge critical and commercial success last year in France.
