Beatrice (Juliet Stevenson) and her teenage son spend a week emptying their Summer home in Southern France. Elliot (Alex Lawther) is confronted to his emerging sexuality while Beatrice realises that her marriage is over. They meet Clément (Phénix Brossard), a mysterious boy who make them face their desires and confront each other. Departure is the intimate story of the end of Summer, the end of childhood and the end of a family.
