How to recover from the World Cup blues?

Things to do in Paris and London while everyone else is mourning the end of the World Cup



Since the 9th June we have been surrounded by World Cup fever.  But what are we to do now television sets and stereos are no longer blaring out their nationalistic din?  Here are some ideas to stimulate your mind, body and senses this summer in our two favourite cities and further a field!

In Paris

- Go book shopping in Gibert Jeune, M° St Michel and allow yourself to be bewitched by Amelie Nothomb, chez Editions Albin Michel

- Climb the hill to Europe’s first ever construction made entirely of iron in the Jardin des Plantes

- Enjoy delicious authentic Vietnamese food in little-known but lively Belleville, while watching the world go by

- Take your rug and a picnic to Parc de la Villette for free open air cinema
