La Tour Eiffel évaluée à £344 milliards pour l'économie de la France
The Eiffel Tower stands in the centre of Paris and has become the symbol of the city as well as of national pride. Each year, it receives over 8 million visitors who cannot imagine visiting Paris without going up the Eiffel Tower.
The Eiffel Tower has now been named the most valuable monument in Europe – worth an estimated £344bn to France’s economy.
This attraction was built initially for the Universal Exhibition of 1889 and was meant to be demolished later but 123 years later, it has now become the most valuable asset that France has.

The findings were made in a study carried out by the Monza and Brianza Chamber of Commerce in Italy. The study did not take into consideration the building cost nor the land value. On the other hand it looked at the ‘image, branding and aesthetic qualities’ that attracted people to visit the monument together with the number of jobs it created.
The numbers indicate an estimation of what the monument has been worth and will continue to be worth to the nation’s economy.
